 The next meeting of the Historical Society will be held on Thursday 24 March, at the Old Surgery, corner Parkes and Junction Streets, commencing at 7.30 pm.

We're all organised for our Open Day at the Old Mine Doctor's Surgery on the corner of Parkes and Junction Streets, Helensburgh, 10 am to 4 pm.

2009 was the 125th Anniversary of the establishment of Helensburgh and also the 30th birthday for our Historical Society. Throughout 2009, the Historical Society organised several events and participated in other activities in Helensburgh.

Our birthday party and bush dance on 13 June was a great success thanks to the organising expertise of the Helensburgh Lions Club. Over 340 adults and children participated on the night. Historical Society President, Allan House, presented a very interesting talk on Helensburgh's history. See Allan's speech below.
